Early praise for Here We Go Crazy:
“Striking, sharp, sub-three-minute bursts of intense pop-coated alt rock that recalls the fizzy joy of the Buzzcocks.” – Uncut, 8/10
“This alt-icon’s rockin’ on.” – MOJO, 4/5
“The album aligns more closely with the 90s power pop of Sugar than the post-hardcore of Hüsker Dü, but easily bests all of Mould’s previous releases that do the same.” – The Wire
“The intricacy of his songwriting and the passionate, slamming delivery of his band hit as hard emotionally as it does sonically.” – Classic Rock, 8/10
“Mould’s signature buzzsaw riffs, sugar-sweet melodies and yearningly gravelly nature of his voice are again backed by his formidable rhythm section.” – Record Collector, 4/5
“This muscular ripper stands alongside Mould’s best.” – The Guardian
Today sees the release of Here We Go Crazy, the 15th solo album and first full-length studio album in more than four years from legendary US musician Bob Mould. It’s out now via Granary Music/BMG Records. To mark the occasion, Mould has shared a new single from the album in its resplendent centrepiece ‘When Your Heart Is Broken‘ alongside an accompanying lyric video, as well as announcing a bumper UK and European tour for November and December 2025.
“‘When Your Heart Is Broken’ is built from a familiar blueprint for my work: bright melodies, dark words, loud guitars,” Mould explains. “It’s one of the earliest songs written for Here We Go Crazy, and I added it to my Solo Electric set list in Fall 2022. Some nights, I would play ‘Too Far Down’, followed by ‘When Your Heart Is Broken’, then ask the audience: Which one of the two is heavier? To me, the musical urgency of ‘When Your Heart Is Broken’ is uplifting, the lyrical reflection offers redemption, and it’s most certainly a song I can throw myself into when playing live.”

The autumn 2025 tour dates take Mould all across the continent for shows that range from Greece to Finland, including full-band performances in London (The Dome, Nov 20th), Berlin (Columbia Theatre, Nov 22nd) and Leuven (Het Depot, Nov 25th). Supper for all solo electric shows comes from Che Arthur. Tickets for all shows go on-sale March 12th. In the meantime, eagle-eyed fans can catch Mould in Europe for a trio of sold-out release week shows at Rough Trade in Berlin (tonight), Rough Trade in Bristol (March 9th) and The Lower Third in London (March 11th).

Here We Go Crazy – which follows 2020’s critically acclaimed Blue Hearts – was heralded at the top of the year by the premiere of the lead single and title track, ‘Here We Go Crazy‘, with anticipation further piqued by last month’s follow-up, the turbulent second single ‘Neanderthal‘. ‘Here We Go Crazy’ was hailed by The Guardian as “a muscular ripper [that] stands alongside Mould’s best” and by Stereogum as “vintage Bob Mould – a concise power-pop jam with a soaring melody and a whole lot of muscle,” the track was joined by an official music video directed by Gus Black (Phoebe Bridgers, Teddy Swims).

Produced by Mould at Chicago, IL’s famed Electrical Audio in early 2024 and then finished and mixed at Oakland, CA’s Tiny Telephone with longtime engineer Beau Sorenson, Here We Go Crazy once again features backing by the crack rhythm section of drummer Jon Wurster and bassist Jason Narducy. Together the trio bring a bracing attack to eleven new Bob Mould songs.
“On the surface, this is a group of straightforward guitar pop songs. I’m refining my primary sound and style through simplicity, brevity, and clarity,” Mould says. “Under the hood, there’s a number of contrasting themes. Control and chaos, hypervigilance and helplessness, uncertainly and unconditional love.”
Mould and band will mark the arrival of Here We Go Crazy Stateside with US headline dates getting underway April 1st at San Diego, CA’s Music Box SD and then traveling through mid-May. Highlights include stops at venues including Pioneertown, CA’s Pappy & Harriet’s (April 2nd), San Francisco, CA’s The Fillmore (April 5th), Seattle, WA’s Neptune Theatre (April 7th), St. Paul, MN’s Palace Theatre (April 19th), Chicago, IL’s Metro (April 25th-26th), Boston, MA Paradise Rock Club (May 2nd), New York City’s Le Poisson Rouge (May 3rd), and Washington, DC’s Black Cat (May 7th). “In the early stages of writing this album, I envisioned ‘Neanderthal’ as the opening track. I imagined a child raised in an unstable home, perpetually exposed to erratic and confrontational behavior. A fight or flight situation. ‘Neanderthal’ is a frantic sprint through darkened hallways littered with tension, conflict, and aggression. A claustrophobic maze of distorted mirrors. As the song nears the end, a pair of subconscious voices appear. The first voice is both soothing and unsettling, while the final voice is reactionary and violent. It’s a fight or flight song.”

A Conversation with Bob Mould
When he calls, Bob Mould is finishing work on his 15th solo album, Here We Go Crazy. A distillation of the unfailing melodic skill, the emotional lucidity and dynamic fluency he’s developed over more than four decades, it’s also a typically bold realignment of his sonic paradigm. Its turbulent vignettes are scored by Mould’s familiar bruised tunefulness, but the sound is pared back to its fundaments, 11 songs blistering past in just over 30 minutes. “I’ve stripped things back to what excited me as a young guitarist,” he explains. “The energy, the electricity.”
Part of the inspiration for this more primal aesthetic is the heavy itinerary of touring he’s lately undertaken, several years spent circling the globe, either in the company of bandmates Jon Wurster (drums) and Jason Narducy (bass) or just by himself. “I was really throwing myself in the songbook and feeling where the audience is at,” he says. “And they were really responding to this very simple, just-me-and-a-guitar setup. And I thought, maybe I shouldn’t be overcomplicating things, ‘word’-ing or ‘craft’-ing it up. Just grab for the simple bits of life we still have control over: our emotions, our relationships.”
After shows, Mould would hang out signing merch and talking to fans. “Sometimes people bring a lot of their lifetime emotional content to me,” he says, “like they’ve compressed all this coal into a tiny little diamond. Sometimes I’m surprised at the weight of it, the heaviness. I’m like, ‘I’m here for you. I’m listening.’ I’m shocked and grateful they share so readily with me. I don’t know what I did to earn that trust.”
Mould has earned that trust with every record he’s made, channelling his own “lifetime emotional content” for songs of wisdom, honesty and volcanic intensity. His first band, Hüsker Dü, bared his angst over furious noise and turbulent melody, an indelible influence on generations that followed. But by the time Nirvana infiltrated the mainstream, Bob Mould had already moved on, having sequestered himself in a farmhouse to lick his wounds and learn new ways to sing his songs. His solo debut, 1989’s folk-rock masterpiece Workbook, was a record of depth and sophistication. Then he pulled another sharp turn, his power-trio Sugar alloying his most melodic songs with his fiercest noise, yielding his most commercially successful work yet.
Over the solo career that followed Sugar’s own mid-90s flameout, he’s displayed a maturing gift for songwriting, transcending the ‘alternative’ tag and recognised alongside key influences like Pete Townshend and Pete Shelley. He’s adrenalized classic forms, alchemised angst into something addictive and powerful. “I’m just trying to figure myself out,” he says. “After 64 years of life – 55 spent writing songs – it’s what I do.” The concepts that shaped the songs of subsequent albums reflect those years. The ruminative Beauty & Ruin (2014) and Patch The Sky (2016) were written in the wake of losing his parents and other loved ones. 2019’s Sunshine Rock was a homage to the early Capitol singles of the Beatles and the Beach Boys, constant companions through his turbulent childhood. The terse, political Blue Hearts (2020) was written and recorded amid the dying days of the first Trump administration.
Here We Go Crazy, meanwhile, arrives at another moment of uncertainty, a time of disruption and fear. Mould sees the songs unfolding like the three acts of a play, each act exploring distinct but related themes. The first handful of songs concern “control versus chaos”, Mould explains. The opening title track contrasts images of nature – deserts, mountains, fault-lines – with the tumult of human life. Inspired by a riff that Mould says “sounded like a fistfight”, ‘Neanderthal’ is “a snapshot from inside my head as a young kid: growing up in a violent household, everything being unsettled, feeling that fight-or-flight response at all times,” while ‘Breathing Room’ is “about feeling isolated, cramped-up, and literally needing that breathing space”.
The furious, dynamic ‘Fur Mink Augurs’ signals the second act, where the darkness descends. The song channels claustrophobia, and “the cold, crazy, late-winter feeling I grew up with in the Adirondacks and in Minnesota. When the cabin fever really sets in deep – when the permafrost is set and it never gets warm – you become frayed, and things can really unravel, quickly.” ‘Lost Or Stolen’ chronicles lives undone by “people losing themselves in their phones,” Mould explains. From this focus, he pulls back and digs into “ideas about depression, addiction, self-medication and collapse… The words just fell out of me.” This anguished middle-passage of the album concludes with the cathartic ‘Sharp Little Pieces’, exploring “the end of innocence, the idea of a young child’s trust being violated. For those of us who lost trust as children, it disappears in a flash, and we spend years struggling to regain that innocence. And maybe it never comes back.”
The song ends bluntly (Mould says the album’s “lack of sophisticated ornamentation is key – I was trying to stay out of the way of the songs, to strip away all the things I used to think were important, all those extra colours and complexities. I didn’t want to get deep into decorating the tree. I wanted to keep it simple, to use the simplest words”), raising the curtain on the closing act. The theme here is lifting oneself out of the darkness; ‘You Need To Shine’ is a song about “looking for the bright sides, the good parts of life, despite everything that’s happened”, Mould says, a sentiment borne out by the song’s spirited holler that “all that madness doesn’t matter anymore”. ‘Thread So Thin’ is “about trying to protect the one you love, and trying to feel protected”, Mould explains, while the closing ‘Your Side’ is a powerful love song from the edge of the darkness, Mould howling “If the world is going down in flames, I want to be by your side”. “We’re heading into a great unknown here,” Mould says, of the wider geopolitical and climate anxieties that inspired these songs. The message here is, simply, focus on that which can save you and deliver you from this moment. “This album talks a lot about uncertainty, helplessness, being on edge,” Mould adds. “How much can we control? How much chaos can we handle? In the end, the answer, the remedy, is placing your trust in unconditional love.”
Mould knows Here We Go Crazy is an album freighted with darkness; “There’s soothing melodies, and there’s lyrical discomfort,” he deadpans. “It’s manic, frantic, complex.” But no one ever came to Bob Mould for good news, for the easy answers. Pop music runs through his veins, as surely as the electricity that drives his chiming hooks into the realms of distortion, but he’s here to give you the truth, his truth. To give you songs that ring true when howled against a tornado of guitar, that compress all that “lifetime emotional content” into some kind of sonic diamond. There’s eleven of those precious gems here, sculpted to make the heaviness easier to bear, somehow. Treasure them.

BOB MOULD
APPEARING ON LATE NIGHT WITH SETH MEYERS
FOR FINAL 8G BAND PERFORMANCE
US SOLO TOUR BEGINS SEPTEMBER 6, OPENING ACTS ANNOUNCED
TIM WALZ AND BETO O’ROURKE TALK BOB MOULD’S MUSIC
AND MOULD ENDORSES HARRIS/WALZ
Bob Mould is honored to be performing with Late Night with Seth Meyers’ 8G Band for their final performance this Thursday (August 22). “In December 2014, I sat in with the 8G Band for an entire week,” Mould recalls. “Every day was an exciting experience — new songs to learn, a wide variety of interesting guests, and those super fresh and highly entertaining Seth monologues. I loved walking across the street to work each day, going to the NBC commissary for lunch, and hanging out with the band and crew. I’m humbled to be a small part of Thursday’s farewell to the 8G Band. It’s the end of an amazing run, it’s bittersweet for certain, and I’m hoping NBC will let us turn up extra loud!”
While Mould is performing at Late Night on Thursday, the Democrats will be officially nominating Kamala Harris as their candidate in this year’s election. Two weeks ago, when Harris named Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate, it came to light that Walz is a fan of Mould’s first band, the seminal punk group Hüsker Dü. “It’s been quite a while since I’ve felt so good about the direction of the USA,” shares Mould. “It’s amazing to see and feel this sudden change. The country is rallying around newfound energy and joy, the hope for a better and brighter future, and I’m ready to help the cause in any way I can.” So excited about the news, Mould took to his guitar and quickly crafted an anti-Trump song, asking his social media followers to come up with a name for the song. Extensive coverage of the Mould-Walz connection was covered in The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Stereogum.
In the two months leading up to the election, Mould will be touring solo throughout the United States. Today, he happily announced the opening artists for the two legs of the tour, including J Robbins (solo), Che Arthur, W.E. Thompson, David Barbe, Sam Hoffman and Cash Langdon. J Robbins will be playing on 10 of the 13 September shows while Mould’s ex-Sugar bandmate David Barbe will be opening 9 of the 12 October dates.
“David and I have stayed in touch over the years,” Mould says, “We ran into each other in San Francisco six weeks ago, and I immediately asked him if he’d be interested in playing his songs at some of the October shows. I’m thrilled that David is able to jump on NINE of the October shows, including Athens GA and Atlanta GA.”

Today, Bob Mould announces a fall Solo Electric tour of the United States starting on October 6 at the Atlantis in Washington, DC, and ending at the Stoughton Opera House in Stoughton, WI on October 27. Support on the tour will be the long-time bassist in Mould’s touring trio Jason Narducy. Mould says of this run, “I’m excited to be back in the Northeast and Midwest, especially during peak fall colors. I’m happy to have Jason supporting the tour — it’s been a while since we’ve done solo shows together. I’m nervous, too: I’ve got a handful of new songs to share with you!”
On August 13, Mould is set to support Patti Smith at the Stern Grove Festival, an admission-free festival in San Francisco. “In the late 1970s, at a record store signing event in Minneapolis, Patti graciously signed my ‘Because The Night’ 45 RPM picture sleeve,” he recalls, “Decades later, I’m thrilled to be on the bill with Patti and her band in such a unique and picturesque setting.”
In addition to the solo run, Mould has two previously announced band shows, featuring his trio of Narducy and drummer Jon Wurster. The first of these is at WMSE’s Backyard BBQ in Milwaukee on August 26, followed by an appearance at the Minnesota State Fair on September 2 — playing on a bill with The Hold Steady, as that band celebrates its 20th anniversary. Mould comments that, “Craig Finn and Tad Kubler were part of the Disney Hall ‘See A Little Light’ tribute show in 2011. There are very few Bob Mould Band shows this year, and we’re honored to be part of the Hold Steady’s 20th Anniversary celebration.”
Mould continues to tour behind his box set Distortion: 1989-2019 chronicling his solo career and work in the band Sugar over 18 studio albums, 4 live albums, and 2 albums of rarities and collaborations. More info HERE.
Also, it was recently announced that his first band Hüsker Dü has an album is putting out TONITE LONGHORN, a previously-unreleased double-disc set of rare live recordings from the legendary band’s embryonic on-stage beginnings. Drawn from the historical Hüsker Dü recording archives compiled by late sound engineer Terry Katzman, the album collects 28 explosive tracks captured over four different nights between July 1979 and September 1980 at Minneapolis, MN’s notorious Longhorn Bar. TONITE LONGHORN arrives via the band’s own Reflex Records at all DSPs and streaming services on August 25, 2023. A limited edition 2xLP black vinyl release was released this past Saturday, April 22 as part of the Record Store Day celebration.
Mould says in closing, “I’m looking forward to hitting the road again this year, both Solo and with the Band, adding “2023 is shaping up to be a pleasant mix of past, present, and future.”

“Few artists have upheld (or at least revisited) a musical point of view quite like Bob Mould.”
– Rolling Stone
Legendary musician Bob Mould hits the UK and Ireland this summer for his eagerly anticipated Solo Electric: Distortion & Blue Hearts! Tour having previously taken the show on the road across the US and Canada earlier this year. Kicking off at Brighton‘s Concorde 2 on June 9th and running through July 1st at Whelan’s in Dublin, these dates are Mould’s first on this side of the pond since the release of both his critically acclaimed 2020 album Blue Hearts on Merge Records, as well as his solo career-encompassing Distortion boxset series, available now on Demon Music Group. Catch a show across Mould’s nearly month-long UK/Ireland residency and you can expect to hear solo takes on classics from across his beloved solo back catalogue, from his iconic time with Hüsker Dü and right through to Blue Hearts. Support on all dates comes from ascendant UK singer-songwriter Katie Malco.
Of the upcoming dates, Mould says: “I’m looking forward to the upcoming Solo Electric shows in the UK and Ireland. I’m excited to be performing songs from 2020’s Blue Hearts, as well as revisiting the prior 40 years of my songbook.”
Ahead of his UK dates, Mould recently appeared in session on John Kennedy‘s Radio X show to perform a series of tracks from across his career: ‘Makes No Sense At All‘ (from Hüsker Dü’s 1985 LP Flip Your Wig), ‘Hoover Dam‘ (from Sugar‘s 1992 opus Copper Blue), ‘The Descent‘ (from his revelatory 2012 solo set Silver Age) and ‘The Ocean‘ (from Blue Hearts). Listen back to the session and interview in full here.
Earlier this year, Mould released The Ocean, a new EP featuring three solo acoustic live performances, via Merge. Originally recorded for NPR’s World Café at Mould’s Granary Music home studio in San Francisco, CA, The Ocean collects stripped back versions of ‘The Ocean’ and ‘Forecast of Rain‘, both first found on Blue Hearts, as well as a striking rendition of the Hüsker Dü classic, ‘Divide and Conquer‘ (from Flip Your Wig). Watch a new solo live performance of ‘Forecast of Rain’, filmed last October at the Stoughton Opera House in Stoughton, WI during the US leg of his Solo Electric: Distortion & Blue Hearts! Tour, here: https://youtu.be/DMnuzfojAKM
Mould’s most recent album, Blue Hearts, was released in September 2020 – the rawest and most confrontational work of his four-decade solo career, it’s a raging 14-track collection described by its creator as “the catchiest batch of protest songs I’ve ever written in one sitting.” Produced by Mould at Chicago’s famed Electrical Audio with longtime collaborator Beau Sorenson engineering, the album – which once again features backing from the crack rhythm section of drummer Jon Wurster and bassist Jason Narducy – nods to the veteran singer-songwriter’s groundbreaking past while remaining firmly planted in the issues of the day.
The Distortion series, released incrementally across 2020 and 2021, meanwhile, captures the entirety of Mould’s post-Hüsker Dü solo career across a collection of multi-LP boxsets, as well as a 24CD edition and individual Best Of compilations. All collections have been mastered by Jeff Lipton and Maria Rice at Peerless Mastering in Boston and come presented with brand new artwork designed by illustrator Simon Marchner. Various boxsets in the collection feature a variety of liner notes from legendary music critic Keith Cameron, new interviews with Mould and contributions from the likes of Shirley Manson, Richard Thompson, Ben Gibbard and more. Brought together, they offer up the definitive portrayal of an American rock icon.
Blue Hearts is available now on LP, CD and digitally via Merge Records. The 24CD Distortion: 1989-2019, 8LP Distortion: 1989-1995, 9LP Distortion: 1996-2007, 7LP Distortion 2008-2019, 8LP Distortion: Live boxsets and Distortion: The Best of 1989-2019 2LP, 2CD and 4CD compilations are all available now on Demon Music Group.

“One of my special places is Ocean Beach in San Francisco,” Mould says. “Over the past twelve years, I’ve spent many early mornings walking the shoreline. There’s very few people at dawn: fishers, joggers with dogs, surfers. Depending on the tide cycle, the beach takes on different appearances – sandy sheets of reflective glass, ever-shifting playground for Snowy Plovers and other birds, ocean matter washed up on the shore. I think clearly when walking through the mixture of salt, sand, wind and water. The beach beneath my feet, waves as far as the eye can see, the twinkling night sky giving way to colorful morning light. The constant din of the waves does wonders for my tinnitus. It’s a grounding, soothing, calming feeling – a place to rest. And, there’s always the undertow — that chance of ending up in deeper waters. The Ocean is my homage to those visions, senses, and emotions.”
Mould will mark the arrival of The Ocean with a very busy live schedule, including full band performances and both new and rescheduled dates on the ongoing Solo Electric: Distortion & Blue Hearts! ANNOUNCES RESCHEDULED 2022 SOLO ELECTRIC
UK + IRELAND TOUR DATES
NEW JUNE/JULY 2022 DATES ON SALE NOW
BLUE HEARTS LP OUT NOW ON MERGE RECORDS
DISTORTION RETROSPECTIVE SERIES OUT NOW ON DEMON

Today, legendary musician Bob Mould announces rescheduled dates for his upcoming Solo Electric 2022 UK and Ireland tour, which now begin on June 9th at Brighton’s Concorde 2. The tour, originally scheduled for Jan/Feb 2022, has had to be temporarily postponed due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
—
In a new statement to fans, Mould writes:
“Greetings from California.
“As I mentioned last fall, I’m always concerned about the safety of my audience as well as venue workers. In early December 2021, I realised it would be difficult for me — even with three vaccinations on my dance card — to stay Covid-free for the entirety of the January/February 2022 IE/UK Solo Electric tour.
“Today, I’m happy to announce those shows have been rescheduled. Full dates are listed below. All tickets remain valid. Refunds can be available at your point of purchase.
“Apologies in advance for any inconveniences. Lots of moving parts had to be re-positioned before announcing these new dates. With that being said, I’m hopeful for a better 2022, I’m anxious to get back to work, and I’m very excited to see you all this June!”
—
As Mould notes above, tickets previously purchased for the original shows remain valid across the board but for those unable to attend the rescheduled shows in June and July, refunds are available at their point of purchase. Please see further below for a full updated itinerary.
The shows – which include a new London date at Islington Assembly Hall on June 16th – will find Mould performing solo versions of music from across his iconic, 40+ year career, including songs from the lauded Distortion retrospective collection, from his landmark band Hüsker Dü and from 2020’s explosive and critically acclaimed Blue Hearts album. As Mould previously noted: “I’m looking forward to the upcoming Solo Electric shows in the UK and Ireland. I’m excited to be performing songs from 2020’s Blue Hearts, as well as revisiting the prior 40 years of my songbook.”
Blue Hearts is available now on LP, CD and digitally via Merge Records. The 24CD Distortion: 1989-2019, 8LP Distortion: 1989-1995, 9LP Distortion: 1996-2007, 7LP Distortion 2008-2019, 8LPDistortion: Live boxsets and Distortion: The Best of 1989-2019 2LP, 2CD and 4CD compilations are all available now on Demon Music Group.

Bob Mould Extends his Solo Electric 2022 Tour Dates
Singer-songwriter-guitarist-bandleader extraordinaire Bob Mould has added new North American “Solo Electric” dates to his previously-announced Ireland & UK run at the start of 2022. Tickets for those shows go on sale this Friday at 10am ET local.
The dates follow Bob Mould’s wildly successful “Distortion and Blue Hearts!” two-part tour, first with his ferocious backing band of Jason Narcucy and Jon Wurster, followed by a Solo Electric leg in October. Today, Mould shares a Solo Electric version of “The Ocean,” the sweeping finale to his most recent album Blue Hearts, captured at the Stoughton Opera House on October 16.

Bob Mould on the road ahead:
“The solo shows are great for inspiring new ideas, sharing my current thoughts about the state of the world, as well as revisiting deeper cuts from my songbook. Many of the songs from Blue Hearts took shape during the January 2020 Solo Electric tour, and the positive feedback I received after those shows were key to the feel of that album. I enjoy the intimacy of solo shows, while maintaining the energy and volume of band performances.”
Mould recently performed a virtual set at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Fest with none other than Fred Armisen. Watch the duo perform Hüsker Dü’s “I Apologize” via Rolling Stone.
Pick up Blue Hearts, Sunshine Rock, Patch The Sky, and more CDs and LPs from Bob Mould’s unstoppable catalog in the Merge store.

Bob Mould begins his solo run of his Distortion and Blue Hearts tour this Friday at the Castle Theater in Bloomington, IL and will end in Iowa City, IA at the Englert Theater. Mould also announces that his show at the Stoughton Opera House in Stoughton, WI will be available to live stream here.
Mould shares, “First, I’m thrilled that the Bob Mould Band shows had 99-100% mask compliance! We were able to complete the tour without any health incidents. Thank you so much, and let’s keep the mask on for the Solo Electric shows.
I’m really looking forward to this month’s run of Solo Electric dates. These shows were originally scheduled for March 2020 — right after recording and mixing Blue Hearts (Merge, Sep 25, 2020). I’ll be playing lots of new material, some favorites from DISTORTION, and a handful of early songs.
It’s great to be back on stage, and I’m looking forward to celebrating my birthday this Saturday, October 16. Buy a streaming ticket, have some virtual birthday cake, and enjoy the Stoughton (WI) Opera House show.”
Fred Armisen was a surprise special guest at two of Mould’s concerts earlier in October, joining bassist Jason Narducy and drummer Jon Wurster and Mould at shows in Los Angeles and Boulder. For fans that missed the Mould-Armisen performances on those dates, the pair’s set at this year’s virtual Hardly Strictly Bluegrass is streaming here.
Mould’s tour is in support of his last album, 2020’s Blue Hearts and his massive career retrospective box set Distortion. On tour, Mould is performing songs from his early days in the seminal band Hüsker Dü, his solo career, and his 1990’s band Sugar. See below for tour dates (all are solo shows).

“I was thrilled when the Hardly Strictly folks asked me to perform for this year’s online series,” Mould said. “They wondered if I had a colleague who might be able to help out on a few songs, and I immediately thought of my good friend, Fred Armisen — he wrote the foreword for DISTORTION — and fortunately he was available on ‘tape day.’ Fred drove up from Los Angeles, we rehearsed the entire set at soundcheck, and then ran the set a second time for the cameras. I love it when things come together so easily, and we’re both really happy with the performance.”
Mould is currently on tour with his band, bassist Jason Narducy and drummer Jon Wurster. Starting October 15 he’ll be performing solo, with Narducy serving as the tour’s opener. Mould is on tour in support of his last album, 2019’s Blue Hearts and his massive career retrospective box set Distortion. On tour, Mould is performing songs from his early days in the seminal Hüsker Dü, to his solo career, and his 1990’s band Sugar. See below for tour dates.
