Bob Mould is releasing SILVER AGE, his first album of all-new studio material since 2009’s Life and Times, on September 4 on Merge.

The new record features Bob’s current band—drummer Jon Wurster (Superchunk) and bassist Jason Narducy (Verbow, Spl:t S:ngle)—on 10 brand-new Mould compositions in the punishingly loud, melodically sparkling pop/rock vein of the Sugar catalog.

You can preorder SILVER AGE now on CD and LP, and the first 400 preorders will include a patch featuring artwork from the album. All preorders will ship to arrive on or around the release date of September 4, 2012.

Bob has also announced several fall tour dates with his band supporting SILVER AGE. At these shows, Copper Blue will still be played front to back; however, an additional set and encores mixing the new SILVER AGE material with Hüsker Dü, Sugar, and Mould solo classics will complete the evening.
